What is the Challenge Cup?
If you are a skilled pilot and navigator who can master your aircraft's systems and outsmart the wind: this is your event. Fly well, don't suck, and you might take home the trophy.
🏆 The Three Formulas
Trophies (1st, and or 2nd, and or 3rd place) will be awarded across three distinct competition categories:
- Formula Zero: Raw speed. All the 'Gun' aircraft compete with the fastest overall time winning. 1st place only.
- Formula One (Rally Championship): The handicapping challenge. Handicaps are applied based on manufacturer published TAS (or assigned by the Competition Committee for unlisted models) to allow slower aircraft to compete fairly against faster machines. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places.
- Formula Two: Best Landing, measured via approved devices under the landing.fyi application. The highest landing score wins. This is only available to aircraft with supported data logging devices such as Garmin, MGL, Dynon, Avidyne, GRT. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places.
This is the first year of The Challenge Cup and you have a chance to be the inaugural championship winner. This is the start of a great aviation event, so please register and get ready to rally!

Eligibility & entry
Aircraft
Eligible aircraft categories include GA singles and multi-engine, certified, experimental/amateur-built, vintage and rotary aircraft — in fact any aircraft with a speed of less than 250kt IAS.
Pilots
Valid pilot's licence or certificate to fly in Australia with navigation endorsement, legal currency and type certification and/or class certification as appropriate. Experience requirements at the pilot in command's discretion.
Entry fee
Entry fee is $99, which includes the rally fee, t-shirt, sticker, breakfast and lunch.
